Oggi ho scoperto grazie a Tor.com<\/a> l’esistenza di The Wars of Other Men<\/em>.
\n\u00c8 un cortometraggio indipendente di Mike Zawacki girato a Detroit, con molta passione e pochi soldi (come dichiara nel sito ufficiale<\/a>). \u00c8 ambientato in un pianeta Terra alternativo Steampunk\/Dieselpunk, in una citt\u00e0 devastata dalla guerra. A giudicare da quel che si vede direi molto pi\u00f9 Dieselpunk, e quindi Steampunk in senso esteso<\/em>, che non Steampunk in senso stretto<\/em>. Ottimi entrambi, non sono schizzinoso.<\/p>\n

Ambientato negli anni 1920 di un mondo alternativo devastato dalla guerra, The Wars of Other Men<\/em> racconta la vicenda di un Tenente senza nome che combatte per un esercito sull’orlo della sconfitta. Il nemico domina il campo di battaglia con una nuova super arma chimica, conosciuta come “la Nebbia”. Quando i suoi superiori scoprono la posizione della fabbrica che produce la Nebbia, il Tenente riceve l’ordine di guidare una squadra attraverso la citt\u00e0 devastata dalla guerra per catturare lo scienziato responsabile della sua creazione. Con le vite dei suoi uomini e la sorte del conflitto in bilico, il Tenente dovr\u00e0 prendere una decisione: essere un bravo soldato o essere una brava persona?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A giudicare dal trailer e dalla trama puzza di idiozia e clich\u00e9 allo stato brado. Quando sar\u00e0 disponibile lo vedr\u00f2, anche solo perch\u00e9 \u00e8 un prodotto di appassionati pensato per altri appassionati, ma dubito che potr\u00f2 lodare qualcosa di pi\u00f9 della buona volont\u00e0 e della passione. Non c’\u00e8 nulla di male: sapendo cosa mi aspetta, grazie al trailer (e senza spendere nemmeno un euro), non mi lamenter\u00f2 se saranno 26 minuti buttati.<\/p>\n
